Looking for an engine lid lock for ’67 bus. Only want one that can be rekeyed to match OOLOOO. Do you have one?
If not, what do I look for to be sure it can be rekeyed? I believe current offerings of 113827503F won’t match. Do I look for OE one with key that has the L?

Hi Gabriel,
I spoke to you on the phone the other day. I need an ignition key to the following code 19L047. I need this ASAP. This is for a car for my daughters b-day this weekend. I will be sending the car to the mechanic on Tuesday so they will need a key shortly after. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have a set of front door handles, cargo door handle, rear hatch lock and engine lid lock from a 66′ bus that I wanted re-keyed to match my ignition key. They are all new Wolfsburg West after market locks. What would be the cost to have them all re-keyed? Also, I will be at the OCTO show this weekend and was wondering if I can bring them to you there for you to take? Please let me know, thank you.

Hello,
for my Split bus I don´t have any key. The cylinders on the handels are all the same.
My key code is 2E7. So can you do a key for me?
And the ignition is not any more the original. Can you sell me an ignition for my key code?
Hi Marco, we could help, we could cut a pair VW logo keys to your code, hopefully all locks respond to the code, ignition switches are hard to find and expensive but we have one in stock (1955-1963) German Bus ignition switch $200.00 plus shipping.
Gabriel.
Hi Diego, sorry you caught me traveling attending a couple of VW shows, I’m on my way back to California and will mail the keys as soon as I’m back into the shop.
Gabriel.
Gabriel, this is Gary with the Arizona Bus Club. I sent you some locks on behalf of Chad Jacobson for this year’s raffle bus. I was hoping to get an ETA as to their completion or a note that you’ve received them. Hope to hear from you. Gary L

Hi, just a few days ago I sent you pictures from both sides of the aftermarket ignition key for my KG Type 14.
Could you possibly provide me with the right blank VW emblem duplicate key (uncoded & uncut)? I’m not sure about the profile, it could be E (see 3rd picture). Thanks to let me know, Wilfried

Still waiting for a reply on my demand.

Hi, Gabe,
You come highly recommended by some guys on the Vintage VW list. Maybe you can help.
The ignition lock in my 1970 VW beetle broke: the key was stuck inside and the cylinder would not turn. After some major jiggling and tiggling I got it the key out. I have now bought a used 1969 cylinder and key online (from Airhead Parts) that work fine.
However – I would prefer being able to use my existing door keys in it. Can you change out the tumblers in my (newly-acquired) ignition switch so that my regular door keys will operate it?
I still have my old (broken) lock that I can also send along together with the newly-acquired one. And I can supply the desired key.
Hi Bert, we could help.
We should be able to re-key your existing key to the replacement switch, as long as it is correctly a (K) profile switch, we charge $25.00 plus shipping and VW logo key blanks are $15.00each in case you need a spare.
Gabriel.

Hi Gabriel, I have a 55 bug with an ignition switch that worked, stopped working and now works only sometimes since I’ve tried cleaning out the ignition with dry lube. Can you rebuild an original SG ignition switch? or maybe it just needs a nicely cut new key to get it working again? I’ve heard it can not be rebuilt. I’m pretty sure this is the original switch and would like to have it rebuilt and re-keyed to an original SG VW key. Please help, Thanks!!

Gabe: Can I get an ignition set to my original key code 35K005…that way I can keep my 67 Beetle original…

Hi Gabriel, I ordered an SC ignition switch approx three weeks ago, and paid via Paypal. Asked for it to be keyed alike to SC86. Not heard from you since the order. Can you confirm when you might be able to send this to me? Thanks Gabriel.

Want to know if you can make a key for my 59 panel ignition ? Do you need me to mail it to you ?
I am looking to get a couple of OE style key blanks for my ’92 mkII GTI 8v. So I am wondering how much that would run me. Thanks for your time Gabe.

Hi Gabriel,
I just purchased two NOS R profile Bus handels (1971 and up).
My bus is 1970 L profile.
Can you make this NOS R to fit L profile?
Can the key cylinders be swap? (L for R)
Thanks!

I am the proud owner of a 1964 ghia I inherited from my deceased
grandfather.
The car was parked 20 something years ago garage kept and looks to me ( a
complete novice) in good condition. My grandmother lost the keys at some
point. Here’s where it gets tricky. The car has a different key for the
ignition which is located by the shifter. Not sure if it’s aftermarket or
oem. I called Vw and they told me to call you! I was informed by many that
you are the VW man! So my question is wether or not we can make a key for
the ignition. Or put in a new one. The car is important to me and I think of
Granddad every time I see it.
I have a ’73 Vw and wish to get it running can you help

Hey Gabriel,
Saw your ad on the Egg Bus vids. I have a 66 spit with no keys. I’m clueless re: blanks and codes. What do I need to do? Thanks
Sue
Need a new key for my 1974 vw super beetle convertible. The old key is worn so I am guessing I need it cut by code. Where do you put the code on the order? Do I need the M one? The key code is the number on the key?
Thanks!
Sue
Where do you put the key code on the order?
Colin
Gabriel,
Do you have a Kolb key blank for a Type 1 steering lock ?
Thanks,
Colin
Hi Bruce, thanks for watching our VW Bus adventures! Sorry for the delay, if you still need the keys we have them available: http://gabvwkey.com/product/t-profile-vw-logo-key-blanks if you remove the locks you will find a code stamped on the housings, a correct code should look like (T1234) once we know the code we could cut the keys, if some locks are not matching, we could rekey them alike, we charge $25.00per lock to be keyed alike plus shipping.
Hi Alfonso, unfortunately the handles have slight differences 1969-1970 vs. the 1971-1979 models, if you install (L) profile cylinder locks on 1971-1979 (R) the cylinders are backwards and won’t fit correctly.

Gabriel,
Just bought a 76 westfalia that has been sitting in a field for the past 10 years. Doesn’t have any keys. Trying to find best and simplest way to get a set. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Bill
Hi Bill, we could help, go ahead and remove one of the locks and get a key code from it, a correct code should look something like (12R023) once you know the code we could cut a correct blank for it.
